These baked bajiya offer the same flavourful tuna filling we all love – just wrapped in pastry and baked in the oven instead of deep frying. The result is a lighter snack with a golden, slightly crisp exterior.

A wholesome twist on the classic kulhi boakibaa, this version uses oats for a heartier texture. Made with oats, potatoes and canned tuna, this boakibaa comes out soft, savoury, and is an absolute breeze to make!

Using tortillas as the base, this easy pizza is topped with all the classic flavours you love – just without the time and effort of making the dough.

This is a healthier take on gulha, made with atta fuh or whole wheat flour and baked until golden and crispy. The savoury tuna filling uses canned tuna in brine – same delicious flavour, just without the extra oil.

Masfathafolhi is similar in taste and ingredients to kulhi boakibaa but that’s where the similarities end. Shaped into little mounds, then baked in the oven, it’s simple, filling, and perfect for sharing.

With a creamy, cheesy filling and a crust made from biscuits, this quiche is tasty and super easy to make – great for when you want to impress your guests!

Inspired by the Sri Lankan fish roti, this version is made with canned tuna and an easier, quicker dough. In a pinch, you can also use ready-made roti or wraps – just make sure to crisp it up on the stove before serving!

A quintessential Maldivian favourite made with a soft dough, tomato-y filling, and boiled egg – all baked to perfection for a hearty, satisfying snack.

Riha folhi has a bit more components to it – but it’s also one of the healthier short eats in Maldivian cuisine. You can also make the valhomas (smoked tuna) filling in advance and make the folhi and assemble it the next day!

Crispy on the outside and warm and savoury on the inside, this cheesy tuna panini is perfect for when you want to whip up something quick, filling and delicious for iftar or tharaavees.
