Tuna Canapés

 

A canapé is typically a small piece of bread or cracker, topped with something savoury such as meat and cheese. Here, we have a simple and easy tuna canapé, that is perfect to snack on.

For our canapés, we have used CBL Munchee Herbal Karapincha Biscuits, provided to us by one of our partners, Pyramid. These biscuits are made with dried curry leaves, giving it a unique savoury and herbal flavour. Curry leaves provide many health benefits like reducing cholesterol, improving eyesight, increasing hair growth and so much more. The CBL Munchee Herbal Karapincha Biscuits are also great for snacking and teatime.

 

Makes: 20 canapés

 

Ingredients:

 

For the tuna mixture

  • 1 can chilli tuna chunks (180g, drained)
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • ¼ cup finely diced onions
  • ¼ cup finely diced tomatoes
  • ¼ tsp salt

To assemble

  • 20 CBL Munchee Herbal Karapincha Biscuits
  • 5 cheddar cheese slices (each slice cut into quarters)
  • 1/3 cup diced cucumbers
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

 

Instructions:

  1. To start off, add 1 can chilli tuna chunks (drained), 4 tbsp mayonnaise, and 1 tsp lime juice to a small bowl. Using a spoon or your fingers, mix and squash until fully combined.
  2. Then, add in ¼ cup diced onions and ¼ cup diced tomatoes. Continue mixing until just combined.
  3. Lastly, add ¼ tsp salt and give it a final mix and set aside.
  4. To assemble the canapés, place a cheese slice quarter on top of a CBL Munchee Herbal Karapincha Biscuit. Then, place 1 tsp of the tuna mixture on top of the cheese and spread evenly.
  5. After that, sprinkle ½ tsp of the diced cucumbers and some of the chopped coriander leaves on top.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the rest of the Karapincha biscuits. These tuna canapés are best served immediately after assembling.
