Tuna Pasta Salad


This is a fresh and easy pasta salad recipe with crisp vegetables, tuna, parmesan cheese and a tangy and slightly sweet salad dressing.

Instead of using regular pasta, in our recipe we’ve used Agnesi Whole Wheat Penne Pasta (Penne Rigate N° 19) that we got from one of our partners MHA. The pasta has a higher fiber content when compared to regular pasta and has a slightly nutty flavour which works in this pasta salad particularly well.


Serves: 2-3



For the pasta

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ cups Agnesi Whole Wheat Penne Pasta (Penne Rigate N° 19)

For the dressing

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ lemon
  • 2 tsp. mustard cream
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 1 garlic clove (crushed)
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp. red chilli powder

For the salad

  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup sliced cucumber
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • ½ cup chopped bell pepper
  • ½ onion
  • 1 tuna can
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese



  1. Add water to a pot and bring it to a boil. When it starts to boil, add Agnesi Whole Wheat Penne Pasta and salt and boil for 13 minutes or until the pasta is cooked. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. To prepare the salad dressing take a small bowl and add olive oil, lemon juice, mustard cream, honey, crushed garlic, salt and pepper, chili powder. Mix to combine and set aside.
  3. Slice the cucumber and onion. Halve the cherry tomatoes. Roughly chop the lettuce and chop the bell pepper into bite size pieces.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to a large bowl.
  5. Add the lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, tuna and parmesan cheese.
  6. Add the salad dressing, mix to combine and that’s it.
