Karaa fani or watermelon juice is a very traditional Maldivian juice to have, especially for iftar during Ramadan. Unlike most juices, this traditional watermelon juice is not blended. Instead, the watermelon is finely diced, then mixed with water and sugar.
For our recipe, we have used watermelons provided to us by one of our partners, Daily Groceries. These watermelons are not only fresh, but also sweet, crunchy, and very juicy. They are also a fun snack to have when you want something light and refreshing.
You can get fresh watermelons from Daily Groceries, Dhathuruveringe Market, Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Male’ or get in touch with them via 7998272.
