Rose Falooda

 

Rose Falooda is a classic, refreshing dessert drink made with chilled milk, sweet rose syrup, basil seeds, jelly, and creamy vanilla ice cream. With its fragrant rose flavour and colourful layers, it’s a perfect treat to enjoy on a warm day.

To make our falooda, we have used Green Leaves Premium Rose Syrup, provided to us by one of our partners, Silver Quest. It is a rich, concentrated rose-flavoured syrup that works beautifully in a variety of desserts and drinks.

Makes: 3 large glasses

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups full cream milk
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup Green Leaves Premium Rose Syrup
  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup water (for soaking the basil seeds)
  • 2 tbsp basil seeds
  • 15 tbsp strawberry jelly cut into small cubes
  • 1 ½ cups vanilla ice cream

 

Instructions:

  1. Combine 2 cups full cream milk, ½ cup sweetened condensed milk, ½ cup Green Leaves Premium Rose Syrup and ¼ tsp vanilla essence. Refrigerate the mixture for around 2 hours.
  2. Add 2 tbsp basil seeds to a small bowl with ½ cup water. Let the seeds soak for 30 minutes.
  3. To assemble the Rose Falooda, place 1½ tablespoons of the soaked basil seeds inside a large glass. Then add 5 tbsp strawberry jelly.
  4. Pour in 3/4 cup of the refrigerated rose syrup mixture, give it a stir, and top with ½ cup vanilla ice cream.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the remaining glasses.
