Kiru Sarubathu

This simple rose flavoured sweet milky drink is a Maldivian favourite.

In our recipe we’ve used Green Leaves Rose Syrup, which we got from one of our partners Silver Quest. In contrast to the rose syrups out there, this one isn’t that sweet and has a really concentrated rose flavour which we love.

Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:

• 2 tsp. basil seeds
• ½ cup room temperature water (to soak the basil seeds)
• 3 cups cold water
• 2/3 cup Green Leaves Rose Syrup
• 2/3 cup condensed milk

Instructions:

1. Add basil seed and water to a glass and let it soak for 5 minutes.
2. Add cold water to a glass jar.
3. Add rose syrup and condensed milk.
4. Add the soaked basil seeds.
5. Stir well to combine and serve.
