Dhalhu Alanaasi Fani

This is a very easy and popular drink in many Maldivian households in Ramadan. Dhalhu Alanaasi Fani does not take much time to prepare, making it perfect when you’re short on time.

For our recipe, we have used Choice Pineapple – Slices in Heavy Syrup, provided to us by one of our partners, State Trading Organization (STO). These pineapple slices offer the perfect balance of flavour and sweetness, making them ideal for drinks and desserts.

Serving Size: 2 glasses (4.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide)

 

Ingredients:

  • 7 slices Choice Pineapple – Slices in Heavy Syrup
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ cup syrup from Choice Pineapple – Slices in Heavy Syrup can
  • 2 cups water

 

Instructions:

  1. Cut the 7 slices of Choice Pineapple – Slices in Heavy Syrup into large chunks.
  2. Add the chopped pineapple slices along with 2 tbsp sugar and ¼ cup syrup from Choice Pineapple – Slices in Heavy Syrup can into a large blender.
  3. Blend on high speed for 30 to 40 seconds or until the pineapple pieces are fully blended.
  4. Using a strainer, strain the juice into a pitcher. Use a spoon to press and extract the excess juice from the pineapple pulp.
  5. Add 2 cups water and give it a good mix. You can chill the juice for 1 to 2 hours for a better taste. Serve the juice in glasses (we used 2 4.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide glasses).
