Cinnamon Lemon Iced Tea | Lonumedhu

Cinnamon Lemon Iced Tea

A tall glass of iced lemon tea is a hot weather classic. But add some cinnamon to it and things go to a whole new level.

In our recipe we used T-sips Supreme Ceylon Tea we got from one of our partners ADK General Trading. The black tea smells earthy and fresh, is full bodied, and has just a hint of bitterness.

Serves: 5-6

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 8 T-sips Supreme Ceylon Tea bags
  • 10 tbsp. sugar (or to taste)
  • 3 tbsp. lemon juice (2 lemons)
  • 2 lemons (sliced)
  • ice cubes (approximately 40)
  • fresh mint (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add water and cinnamon to a large pot and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the teabags.
  2. Let the teabags steep for 5 minutes and then remove and discard the teabags.
  3. Stir in the sugar.
  4. Let the tea cool down to room temperature.
  5. Remove the cinnamon stick and transfer the tea to a pitcher. Add the lemon juice and give it a good stir. You can have a taste at this stage and add more sugar or lemon juice if you’d like to.
  6. Refrigerate the tea for 2 hours.
  7. When ready to serve, fill the glasses with ice cubes. Distribute the lemon slices evenly among the glasses and pour in the chilled tea. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
