Cheesy Egg Toast

 

Crispy bread, creamy cheese spread and a baked egg come together to make a simple yet delicious dish that takes very little effort to prepare.

For our recipe, we have used Kewpie Sandwich Spread - Cheesy Cheese provided to us by one of our partners, Sarah International. This spread has a rich, cheesy flavour with a smooth and creamy texture, making it ideal for adding an extra layer of taste to sandwiches and simple meals.

Serving size: 2 toasts

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bread
  • 1 ½ tsp softened unsalted butter
  • 3 tsp Kewpie Sandwich Spread - Cheesy Cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of ground black pepper
  • Pinch of chilli flakes

 

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, line a baking tray using a baking paper.
  2. Take one slice of bread and using a spoon or a small butter knife, spread ½ tsp softened unsalted butter. Then add 1 tsp Kewpie Sandwich Spread - Cheesy Cheese and spread again.
  3. Take the second slice of bread and using a 2 ½ inch top of a small round bowl or glass, press down hard on the middle and gently twist, creating a round shaped well. Cut this hole out.
  4. Spread ¼ tsp softened unsalted butter and ½ tsp Kewpie Sandwich Spread - Cheesy Cheese on this slice as well.
  5. Place the slice with the hole on top of the other slice. Crack 1 egg and add it inside the hole in the slice. Poke 2 to 3 tiny holes inside the yolk using a toothpick. Then sprinkle a pinch of salt, pinch of ground black pepper and a pinch of chilli flakes on top.
  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for the other 2 slices as well.
  7. Preheat the oven at 190 Degree Celsius for 15 minutes. Bake them for 15 minutes or until the egg is fully cooked.
