Blueberry Iced Tea

Blueberry iced tea is a refreshing, fruity drink with the smooth taste of tea and a hint of sweet blueberries.

In this recipe, we have used Green Leaves Premium Blueberry Syrup, provided to us by one of our partners, Silver Quest. Green Leaves Premium Blueberry Syrup is a sweet, rich syrup made from ripe blueberries, ideal for drizzling over any desserts, or mixing into drinks.

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups water
  • 8 teabags (black tea)
  • 10 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ cup Green Leaves Premium Blueberry Syrup
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 ice cubes (per glass)
  • 3 round cut lemon slices (per glass)
  • 1 mint leaf (per glass)

Instructions:

  1. Into a large pot, add 6 cups water and bring to a boil at high heat. Once the water starts boiling (this will take around 10 minutes and fast bubbles will form on the surface of the water), turn off the heat and add in 8 teabags. Let them steep in the water for 5 minutes, then remove and discard the teabags.
  2. Then, add in 10 tbsp sugar into the steeped black tea and stir well. Let the tea cool down to room temperature.
  3. Transfer the sweetened tea into a pitcher. Add in ¼ cup Green Leaves Premium Blueberry Syrup, 3 tbsp lemon juice and give it a good stir. You can taste the tea at this stage and add more sugar or lemon juice as needed.
  4. Refrigerate the blueberry tea for 2 hours. When ready to serve, first add 4 ice cubes and 2 round cut lemon slices into a glass (we used mason jars which is around 5 inches in height). Then, pour the iced blueberry tea over them.
  5. Top each glass off with a mint leaf and another lemon slice as a garnish. Now, your blueberry iced tea is ready to enjoy!
