Ashotchu | Lonumedhu

Ashotchu

“Ashotchu” is a trendy Korean drink that means “iced tea with an added shot”, which is typically made using peach iced tea. It combines the sweet fruity taste of peach tea with espresso, creating a unique bitter-sweet flavour.

For our drink, we have used the McCoy Teas Peach Naturally Infused Ceylon Ice Tea provided to us by one of our partners, STO (State Trading Organization). This is a refreshing peach ice tea, with a lovely balance of fruity peach and the bitter tea flavour, that is also not too sweet. This makes it super easy and quick to make the Ashotchu.

Serving Size:  1 glass

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp instant coffee
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 11 ice cubes
  • 1/2 + 1/3 cup McCoy Teas Peach Naturally Infused Ceylon Ice Tea
  • 3 large lemon slices (optional)

Instructions:

  1. To start off, add 2 tsp instant coffee into a small glass along with ¼ cup hot water. Mix using a frother or a spoon for 15 to 20 seconds or until fully dissolved.
  2. Add 11 ice cubes and 1/2 + 1/3 cup McCoy Teas Peach Naturally Infused Ceylon Ice Tea to a glass. We used a 4.5-inch×3-inch glass.
  3. Next, add the prepared coffee on top. Optionally, you can also add in 3 large lemon slices. Mix well with a straw or spoon and enjoy!
