Today is the day of love. So below we have a look at some foods that’s always been associated with romance and passion.
Chocolate
When it comes to food, is there anything more sensual than chocolate? Just imagine how it oozes out when you cut into a lava cake, or how silky smooth a dark chocolate mousse feels against your tongue. Chocolate makes you feel excited and well and then there’s the caffeine in there, which can help you get going.
Honey
Honey is said to have been used for centuries to bring romance into marriages. The reason for this might be because it contains boron which helps regulate hormone levels and nitric oxide which helps with blood flow; all of this is so good when you want to be perked up and ready for action.
Strawberries:
Strawberries are red, heart shaped and juicy, making them visually feel sensual. They also contain vitamin C which can uplift your mood and give you a boost of energy. No wonder chocolate covered strawberries are the iconic romance treat.
Pomegranates
Another sensual looking fruit, pomegranates represent love and sensual pleasure in many cultures. And like strawberries, they too help with uplifting mood and energy while the antioxidants in them help with blood flow.
Chilli peppers
The heat from chilli peppers can certainly elicit excitement. Besides that, they contain endorphins which boosts mood which in turn can help you get into the mood.
Oysters
Oysters have always been known as an aphrodisiac. That’s probably because they contain dopamine, a brain chemical that increases desire among other good things.
