With so many iftar options popping up in restaurants all over the city, choosing where to go with friends and family can feel like a task of its own. But, if you’re looking for something that stands out from the usual buffet-style spreads, then Azraq by Opio might be a good option for you.
This Ramadan, Azraq has introduced two iftar packages where you can choose ONE main dish from a set menu. Served at the table à la carte style, each package is also complemented by a range of traditional drinks, savoury bites, and desserts.
“We wanted to move away from the typical iftar style you see in restaurants and offer our customers something different with more choice,” said Hussain Haikal, a partner at Azraq. “By choosing their own main dish from a variety of selections, guests can enjoy something for iftar that they truly feel like having, all at an affordable price.”

From the two packages, the first one (package A) for MVR 199 offers Ramadan quintessentials like karaa fani (watermelon juice), hedhikaa platter, roshi and mashuni. Main options for this package include spaghetti Bolognese, Thai basil chicken, and dishes such as Lebanese chicken kebab, Peri Peri chicken, and reef fish steak – with either French fries, mashed potato, or garlic rice.
For package B, the selections are a bit more diverse at MVR 299. In addition to the items from package A, it also includes salad and savoury pastries. Mains for this package include tom yum pasta, beef steak, ‘black & white’, spaghetti & meatballs and chicken kiev.

And of course, dessert and after-dinners are part of the experience. With both packages, you can choose from 19 different flavours of house-made ice cream, along with coffee, tea and dhufun. Additionally, with package B, you can also get churros or biscuit pudding as desserts.

With this emphasis on individual dishes, Azraq’s Ramadan offering this year provides a more customisable experience for guests – great for large family gatherings as well as something more intimate with friends.
