Woke up on a weekend and been unable to decide where to go for breakfast with your friends? Or even on a weekday with your office mates?
Wondered what options are available at which restaurants?
Fear not, we have put together a list which will surely make these tough decisions easier for you!
The Coffee Club Maldives
The Coffee Club has an expansive breakfast menu, with dishes available throughout the day. Not only do they have a Big Breakfast option (with bread, sausages, hash browns, eggs and more), but they also have different types of omelettes and pancakes.
The Coffee Club also has a dish called Smashed Avocado Open Toast, a healthier take on Eggs Benedict. Served with avocado, poached eggs and arugula – with smoked salmon and bacon options available as well – this is definitely one Instagram-worthy looking dish!
Seagull Café House
Quintessential breakfast dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Maldivian Breakfast and Smoothie Bowl are available at Seagull Café House. Along with their signature Seagull Morning Eye Opener (think toast, eggs of choice, grilled beef sausages and hash browns) and a decadent Baked Eggs dish, Seagull has got you covered for a hearty breakfast for sure.
If you’re looking for something lighter, you can also opt for a savoury or sweet pastry from their display – great to have along with a cup of coffee.
Ást Café
Ást by Kavarna’s Breakfast Club menu items include classics such as French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Avo Toast as well as delicious fluffy-looking pancakes which you can have with either Nutella or banana compote.
Also on offer is their signature dishes; Kavarna Breakfast – which comes with thick slices of bread, eggs, jam, sausages, and mushrooms – and Maldivian breakfast, complete with huni roshi, mashuni, kulhimas AND rihaakuru, along with a sunny side up egg.
Bread Matters
Bread Matters currently has two outlets in Male’ City: Bread Matters Urban on Boduthakurufaanu Magu and Bread Matters Gallery on Buruzu Magu.
Both restaurants serve breakfast from 7:30-10:30 AM, and has well-known dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Maldivian Breakfast and French Brioche Toast. For those who want something a bit healthier, they also have granola bowls, avocado toast and assorted seasonal fruits available.
Seahouse Café
No breakfast list about Male’ City will surely be complete without mentioning Seahouse Café. With both buffet and ala carte options, Seahouse is a well-known favourite of the young and old alike. Their breakfast buffet includes a wide range of food with roshi, toast, waffles, cereal, kulhimas, mashuni, hash browns, sausage, vegetables and much more. A live omelette station also provides freshly made omelettes with any add-ins of your choice.
Shellbeans Café and Restaurant
Shellbeans has two breakfast menus available: the Early Risers Breakfast from 7:30-11:30 AM and All Day Breakfast from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Dishes on these menus include muesli and granola bowls, two types of Maldivian breakfast options, Eggs Benedict and pancakes with chocolate sauce or strawberry jam. Items on the Early Risers menu comes with free coffee or tea!
If you’re not feeling like a classic breakfast dish, you can also opt for one of their wraps or sandwiches. Available options include smoked salmon, chicken tandoori, egg & cheese and more.
Rodchenko
The Bagel Breakfast at Rodchenko is definitely a noteworthy addition to this list. With a bagel stuffed with cream cheese, bacon, and a sunny-side up egg, as well as a toasted half bagel with Nutella and sliced bananas, this is certainly one filling, must-try breakfast option!
In addition to this, Rodchenko also has both American and Maldivian breakfast options available. All breakfast meals come with free black/milk coffee or tea of your choice.
