Gluten-free Chocolate Cake from Free2Bite

Launched just recently, Free2Bite food business offers a range of fresh gluten-free bakes, including desserts and bread. Their desserts include chocolate cake, chocolate Basque cheesecake, brownies, cookies and even tiramisu – all gluten and wheat-free. They also have gluten-free pizza, pancakes, and bread, all homemade and available for pre-order.

We tried out their chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious!

First off, the cake itself looked stunning. It was covered in a thick layer of chocolate cream cheese frosting and finished with chocolate shavings on top for decoration. Inside, there are two layers of cake with smooth chocolate ganache sandwiched in between for the ultimate chocolate experience.

The cake itself was fluffy, moist, and deeply chocolatey. The frosting was perfectly balanced; smooth and not overly sweet with a light tang from the cream cheese. The velvety texture of it went really well with the cake and the rich flavour of the ganache.

But the best bit about it was that it tasted just like a flour-based cake – you could never tell that this chocolate cake was made without gluten and normal wheat flour!

We’ve also tried Free2Bite’s gluten-free white bread and we’re happy to report that it tasted great too. Unlike some types of gluten-free bread, this one wasn’t overly dry or dense. It was soft, with a light crumbly texture and worked well with different spreads (think jam, butter, Crumpy etc.) and as a base for toasted sandwiches.

The bread also doesn’t contain any nuts, dairy, or soy, making it great for those who have allergies and different dietary restrictions.

Overall, we love how Free2Bite is showing that gluten-free bakes and desserts can be every bit as good as “the real thing.” So, whether you’re eating gluten-free or just want to try something delicious, we highly recommend giving them a go.
