Tiramisu French Toast | Lonumedhu

Tiramisu French Toast

If you are a fan of French toast and tiramisu, you will love this multi-layered, fusion dessert, tiramisu french toast. It is so good! The perfect creamy and soft dessert.

To bring a rich coffee flavour to our tiramisu french toast, we have used the Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee, provided to us by one of our partners, Standard & Origin (S&O). This coffee is made from pure Arabica beans derived from the Central Highland of Vietnam. It is a medium-dark roast coffee, with a gentle aroma, and has a profound and bold taste.

Serving size: 1

Ingredients:

For the egg mixture

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup full cream milk
  • ½ tsp Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp sugar

For the toast

  • 3 slices of brioche bread (can use large white bread alternatively)
  • 1 ½ tbsp unsalted butter (½ tbsp for each slice of bread)
  • ¼ tsp Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

For the whipped cream mixture

  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup chilled whipping cream

For the topping

  • 1/8 tsp Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. To begin, add 2 eggs, ½ cup full cream milk, 1/2 tsp Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee, 1 tsp cocoa powder, ½ tsp vanilla essence, and 1 tsp sugar to a shallow bowl. Mix using a whisk, until well combined and set aside.
  2. Then to another bowl, add ¼ tsp Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tbsp cocoa powder. Mix well using a small spoon and set aside as well.
  3. Now to make the french toasts, dip and soak 3 slices of brioche bread in the egg and milk mixture (if you don’t have brioche bread, you can alternatively use white bread also). Do this for not more than 1 second (as it soaks very quickly), coating both sides of the bread. Then drip off any excess mixture from the bread.
  4. To toast the first slice, in a large pan, melt ½ tbsp unsalted butter on low heat and place a soaked bread slice in. Toast each side of the bread for 2 minutes on medium heat, until golden on both sides. Remove to a plate.
  5. Then reduce the heat to medium-low and melt ½ tbsp unsalted butter and toast the second slice of bread the same way for 2 minutes on each side. Then reduce the heat again to low and repeat for the third slice. This way, the pan is not over heated, and all the slices will cook evenly.
  6. Set aside the toasted bread in a plate to cool down for around 2 minutes. Then place them in the bowl with the dry espresso mixture. Flip the toasts over to coat them well and remove to a plate.
  7. Next, prepare the tiramisu cream mixture. For this, add ½ cup cream cheese to a large bowl, along with ¼ tsp vanilla essence, and 1 tbsp powdered sugar. Using a spatula, fold and mix until fully combined, then set aside.
  8. Then to another bowl, add ¼ cup whipping cream and whip using an electric hand mixer for 5-7 minutes or until you reach stiff peaks (stiff peaks mean that when you lift the beaters from the mixture, the peaks hold their shape). Then add the cream cheese mixture in and fold using the spatula until fully combined. Set aside.
  9. To assemble the tiramisu French toast, place one toast on a plate and add 3 tbsp of the cream mixture on top. Gently spread using the back of a spoon and place another toast on top. Spread another 3 tbsp of the cream mixture on top.
  10. Place the last toast on top and spread the rest of the cream on top evenly. Lastly, sprinkle 1/8 tsp Trung Nguyen G7 Espresso Instant Coffee on top. The tiramisu french toast is now ready to serve.
