Spicy Korean Noodles

 

This spicy Korean noodle recipe is a bold and flavourful dish, filled with spice and heat. It is the perfect recipe to enjoy on a cosy, rainy day.

For this recipe, we have used Kellogg’s Bon Appetit Korean 2X Spicy Chicken Flavor Instant Noodles, provided to us by one of our partners, S&O (Standard and Origin). Kellogg’s Bon Appetit Korean 2X Spicy Chicken Flavor Instant Noodles is known for its intense chicken flavour and its strong spicy kick. If you enjoy eating dishes with bold and fiery heat, then this is the noodles for you.

 

Serves: 2-4

 

Ingredients:

To prepare the sausages

  • 1 tsp lonumirus
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp chilli sauce
  • 4 sausages (thawed)

To boil the eggs

  • 5 cup water
  • 2 eggs

To make the noodles

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 packets dehydrated bell pepper (found inside the noodles packet)
  • 2 packets Kellogg’s Bon Appetit Korean 2X Spicy Chicken Flavor Instant Noodles
  • 1 ½ packet Korean spicy sauce (found inside the noodles packet)
  • 1 packet Korean 2X spicy chicken flavour (found inside the noodles packet)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 1 tsp chopped spring onions (for the topping)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for the topping)

 

 

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, score 4 thawed sausages on both sides and set that aside. Then, into a bowl, add 1 tsp lonumirus, 2 tsp soy sauce, 2 tsp chilli garlic sauce and mix well.
  2. Add in the scored 4 sausages into the chili mixture and coat them well. Put them in a lined (with baking paper) or greased tray.
  3. Preheat the oven at 190 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. When the oven is heated, put the tray with the sausages into the oven for 20 minutes.
  4. In a pot, boil 5 cups water on high heat for 7 minutes. When the water comes to a boil (when fast bubbles form rapidly on the surface), put 2 eggs in and let it cook for 6 ½ minutes. Once the time is up, take the eggs out and put it in a bowl with cold water to stop them from cooking.
  5. In another large pot, pour in 3 cups water and let it come to a boil on high heat. Then, add in 2 packets dehydrated bell pepper and boil for 2 minutes.
  6. Next, add 2 packets Kellogg’s Bon Appetit Korean 2X Spicy Chicken Flavor Instant Noodles and cook for 4 minutes. Then, add in 1 ½ packet Korean spicy sauce and 1 packet Korean 2X spicy chicken flavour, mix well and let it cook for another 3 minutes on medium heat. At this point the noodles should start looking saucy.
  7. Then, add in ½ cup milk and mix well for 2 minutes. Add in 2 cheese slices and mix again for 2 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
  8. Once the spicy Korean noodles are ready, sprinkle 1 tsp chopped spring onions and 1 tsp sesame seeds on top. Serve with the baked chilli sausages and boiled eggs (cut in half).
