Spicy Chilli Sausage

 

Spicy Chilli Sausage is a quick and tasty dish that can be enjoyed on their own or with rice, bread or roshi. They are full of flavour and take only a few minutes to prepare, making them perfect for a fast meal or snack.

For our recipe, we have used Fresh Chilli Sauce, provided to us by one of our partners KDM. This sauce adds just the right amount of spice and makes the sausages extra delicious. You can also use it as a dip for savoury snacks; drizzle it over fried items or mix it into marinades and stir-fries for an extra spicy kick.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ medium sized onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1-inch leeks (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 largely chopped green chillies
  • 6 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
  • 6 sausages (sliced diagonally)
  • ¼ cup Fresh Chilli Sauce

 

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, add 1 tbsp oil to a small pot and heat on medium heat for 30 seconds.
  2. To the pot, add in ½ medium sized onion (thinly sliced), 1-inch leeks (thinly sliced, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 largely chopped green chillies, 6 curry leaves and sauté on medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until the onions are lightly golden.
  3. Then you can add in 1 tbsp tomato paste, ¼ tsp salt and 1/8 tsp ground black pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Now add 6 sausages (sliced diagonally) and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on medium low heat and with the lid on. Stir occasionally with a wooden spatula to avoid burning.
  5. Lastly, add ¼ cup Fresh Chilli Sauce and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes without the lid and serve.
