Spicy Chicken Pizza | Lonumedhu

Spicy Chicken Pizza

This is an easy homemade spicy chicken pizza recipe that features bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, onions, garlic, ginger, oregano, an array of spices and a lot of cheese.

As for the cheese, we used Arla Pizza Topping, which we got from one of our partners Euro Store. Arla Pizza Topping has that stretchable quality we look for in all pizza cheeses and takes on a nice golden colour when baked. As for the taste, it’s fresh and creamy with a hint of tanginess.

Makes: a 10 inch pizza

  • 220g chicken breast (1 cup when chopped)
  • ½ cup thinly sliced bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp. sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp. diced onion
  • ½ tbsp. grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp. grated garlic (divided)
  • 1 ½ tsp. red chilli powder (divided)
  • ¼ tsp. turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp. cumin powder
  • ½ tsp. coriander powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp. red chilli flakes (divided)
  • ¼ cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 ½ tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 10 inch readymade pizza base
  • 2 cups Arla Pizza Topping (divided)

  1. Cut the chicken into small ½ inch cubes, slice the bell pepper into long stripes. Slice olives and mushrooms. Dice the onion. Grate garlic and ginger.
  2. Add the chicken to a bowl along with grated ginger, ½ tbsp. grated garlic, 1 tsp. red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, ground black pepper, and ½ tsp. red chilli flakes. Mix to combine and set it aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. To make the pizza sauce, combine tomato ketchup, ½ tbsp. grated garlic, ½ tsp. red chilli powder, ½ tsp. red chilli flakes and dried oregano. Set it aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pot, add the marinated chicken and stir fry for 6 to 7 minutes or until the liquid in the pot evaporates.
  5. Spread the pizza sauce on the readymade pizza base.
  6. Then sprinkle 1/2 cup of Arla Pizza Topping on top of the sauce.
  7. Arrange the chicken pieces neatly on top of the Arla Pizza Topping layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1 ½ cups of Arla Pizza Topping on top of the chicken layer.
  9. Neatly arrange the bell peppers on top of the cheese. Arrange the mushrooms on top of the bell peppers and black olives on top of the mushrooms and finally the onion on top of the olives.
  10. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
  11. Bake the pizza until the crust is cooked and the Arla Pizza Topping melts and takes on a golden colour. Our oven has four rack positions. We baked our pizza on the 3rd position for 12 minutes and then moved it up to the 2nd position and baked it for another 12 minutes. However, do keep in mind that oven temperatures differ and baking time and the rack you have to use might vary depending on oven size and other factors.
