Cooking chicken doesn’t get any easier than this. All you have to do is make a marinade by combining all the ingredients except for the chicken, marinate the chicken, and then leave it to cook on the stove.
900 grams chicken legs with skin (it would be around 6 to 7 legs)
6 tbsp. dark soy sauce
3 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. ground black pepper (or to taste)
4 garlic cloves
1 tbsp. oil
Peel and slightly crush the garlic cloves.
Make the marinade by combining all the ingredients except for the chicken. Use a large bowl and remember to have a taste and make any adjustments you want.
Place the chicken legs in the bowl and make sure to get a good coating of the marinade on all the chicken pieces. Cover the bowl and leave it in the fridge to marinate for a few hours. Ours were in the fridge for two hours.
Heat the oil in a large pan. The pan must be big enough to hold all the chicken pieces.
Once the oil is well heated, arrange the chicken pieces inside the pan carefully and then turn the heat to low. The idea is to cook the chicken pieces for a long time on very low heat. Don’t throw away the marinade; we are going to add that later on.
Let the chicken cook for around 15 minutes and then flip to cook the other side.
Let it cook for another 10 minutes or so and add the marinade.
Once again, cook the chicken for another 10 to 15 minutes. Before you switch off the heat, make sure the chicken is cooked through by cutting into a piece.
