Devilled Sausage


This is a quick and easy sausage recipe you can make any time you have some sausages on hand. Feel free to swap the veggies with whatever you have and adjust the spiciness to your liking too.

Serve: 2-3


  • 10 sausages
  • 1 medium size onion (½ cup when chopped)
  • 1/2 bell peppers (½ cup when chopped)
  • 1 and half capsicum ½ cup
  • 1 tsp. garlic minced  
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 3 tbs olive oil (divided)
  • ¼ tsp chicken stock cube
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 5 tbs tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 green chilies (1 tbsp. when chopped)



  1. Cut sausages into bite size pieces. Chop onion, bell pepper, capsicum, and mince the garlic and ginger.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp. olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook for 9 minutes or until brown. You’ll have to give it a mix once in a while. When cooked, remove the sausages to a plate.
  3. Add 2 tbsp. oil to the same pan and heat it up on medium. Add the sliced onion, garlic and ginger and chicken stock cube and stir fry for 2 minutes or until the onion is soft.
  4. Add the chopped capsicum and bell pepper and stir fry for 5 minutes or until they become a bit soft.
  5. Then add chili powder, soy sauce, ground black pepper, tomato paste and mix.
  6. Add water and sugar and simmer for around 3 minutes. Have a taste and make any adjustments you like. You can add some more water if you want it saucier too.
  7. Add the green chilies and the cooked sausages and stir fry for 2 minutes and that’s it.
