Chocolate Puff Mousse | Lonumedhu

Chocolate Puff Mousse

This chocolate mousse is light, airy and made even better with the use of chocolate puff biscuits! It has a crumbly biscuit base followed by cream and topped with dark chocolate.

For this recipe we have used Munchee Chocolate Puff biscuits provided to us by one of our partners, Pyramid. These biscuits are so good dipped in cold milk. The cream filling in these biscuits are especially good and not overly sweet, which is great for this recipe.

Serving size: 3

Ingredients:

  • 15 Munchee Chocolate Puff biscuits (biscuit part only)
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream
  • 15 Munchee Chocolate Puff (cream filling from the biscuits)

For topping

  • 3 tbsp chopped dark chocolate

Instructions:

  1. First, separate the cream filling from the Munchee Chocolate Puff biscuits. You can use a spoon top scrape it off.
  2. Break the Munchee Chocolate Pufff biscuits into halves. Then add them to a blender and blend until they become fine crumbs. Then transfer them to a bowl.
  3. To the bowl add in ¼ cup melted butter and combine well with the blended biscuits. Set it aside.
  4. Next, add in 2/3 cup whipping cream to a mixing bowl.
  5. Using a hand-held mixer whip the cream on medium speed until you get soft peaks. (Soft peaks mean when you take the beater out of the whipping cream, the beater would have peaks that barely hold their shape and flop easily).
  6. Then add the Munchee Chocolate Puff’s cream fillings to the whipped cream and whip again till well combined.
  7. Now you are ready to assemble the mousse. First take 3 dessert glasses (our glasses were 4-inches wide and 1.5-inches tall). Fill the bottom of each with the biscuit crumbs equally and smooth the top using the bottom of the spoon.
  8. Then equally divide the whipping cream for each glass. Add it on top of the biscuit base and smooth the top with a spoon again.
  9. Lastly, sprinkle the chopped chocolate on top of the mousse. This will give the mousse a nice texture. Serve after chilling in the refrigerator for an hour.
