Chocolate Covered Pringles

This viral chocolate-covered Pringles or “chocolate Pringles block” has taken over the internet and we decided to try this ourselves. It’s a super simple recipe; you just need lots of chocolate and a can of Pringles. Definitely a fun recipe to try making with your friends and family.

For our recipe, we have used the Pringles Original provided to us by one of our partners, VB Brothers. These potato crisps are perfectly salted and has a satisfying crunch to it. They are a classic snack, great for sharing with your friends.

If you are unable to find Pringles Original from a shop near you, contact VB Bazaar on 7984366.

Yield: 1 large can

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 600g dark cooking chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter
  • 1 large can Pringles Original (134g)

Instructions:

  1. To a saucepan, add 2 cups of water and heat it up on high heat for 2 minutes or until it starts steaming.
  2. Then turn down the heat to medium low, and place a glass bowl with 600g chopped dark cooking chocolate on top of the saucepan. The bowl needs to be larger than the pot for this and make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water, to create a double boiler.
  3. Using a spatula, gently stir and melt the chocolate for around 6-7 minutes, until it’s smooth with no lumps. Remove from the pot and add 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter and mix it using a spatula.
  4. Carefully pour the warm chocolate into 1 large can Pringles Original (134g). Make sure the crisps are in the center before pouring the chocolate. Tap the Pringles can when pouring the chocolate so it would go down easily.
  5. With a skewer or a chopstick swirl the chocolate around to make sure all side of crisps are covered by chocolate evenly. Then tap the can again on the counter to remove air bubbles and cover with its lid.
  6. Put it in the freezer for 12 hours or overnight. Remove from the freezer and wait for around 5 minutes and cut and peel the cover of the Pringles can. With a sharp knife, slice it and serve.
