Cheesy Garlic Sausage Bread | Lonumedhu

Cheesy Garlic Sausage Bread

If you want a quick breakfast or snack, these cheesy garlic sausage breads are a must to try. This sausage bread is filled with cheese and covered in a delicious garlic and parsley butter.

As for the sausages, we have used the Doux Chicken Garlic Franks, provided to us by one of our partners, United Food Suppliers. These sausages are super tasty and has a nice garlic flavor to it. These can be great for making pastas and easy breakfast dishes.

Serving size:  6

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • ½ tbsp garlic paste
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 3 Doux Chicken Garlic Franks
  • 6 slices of white bread
  • 3 slices of cheddar cheese (cut each slice in half)
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, prepare the garlic butter. In a small bowl, mix together ¼ cup softened unsalted butter, 1 tbsp chopped parsley, ½ tbsp garlic paste and ½ tsp chilli powder using a small spoon. Set aside.
  2. Then slice the 3 Doux Chicken Garlic Franks horizontally to make 6 long sausage slices. Make small shallow cuts along the top of the garlic sausages and set aside.
  3. Line a large baking tray (we used a 17-inch by 14-inch tray) using baking paper. Then roll 6 slices of bread until evenly flat on all sides. This should just take a couple of rolls pressing down using the rolling pin on all sides of the bread.
  4. Then arrange the bread slices on the lined baking tray, diagonally so it forms a diamond shape (leaving some space in between each slice). After that, spread around 1 ½ tsp of the garlic butter on top side using a spoon.
  5. Flip the buttered side down and place half a cheddar cheese slice in the middle of the plain side of each bread. Then place the cut sausage as well.
  6. Now take up the two opposite side corners of the bread and fold over, wrapping the sausage in the bread. Seal with two toothpicks and repeat for the rest of the breads.
  7. Brush a thin layer of the leftover butter on the opened ends of the bread.
  8. Then equally divide ¼ cup of shredded mozzarella on each bread and sprinkle on the ends as well.
  9. Preheat oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. Then place the tray in the middle rack of the oven and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Let it cool for around 10 minutes and enjoy.
