Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Here we have a simple baked chicken drumsticks recipe. Make it as spicy as you want and use any dried herbs you have on hand.

Serves: 3-4

  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 2 tbsp. dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp. red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp. salt (or to taste)
  • 900 grams chicken drumsticks (skin on)

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a small bowl combine all the ingredients except the chicken.
  3. Place the chicken in a large bowl. Make sure the drumsticks are dry, that way the skin doesn’t end up too soggy. Just use a paper towel to get rid of the excess moisture.
  4. Then add the stuff you combined in Step 2. Mix well so that all the chicken pieces are covered.
  5. Arrange the chicken on a nonstick baking tray or a tray lined with aluminum foil.
  6. Place the tray on the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Then turn the pieces and bake for another 30 minutes or until the chicken skin looks golden brown and there’s not much liquid left in the tray.
