3 Ingredient Chocolate Truffles

 

When you bite into these drop dead delicious chocolate truffles we swear you won’t be able to tell they were made from just 3 ingredients.

 

Makes: 16 pieces

 

Ingredients:

  • 390 grams condensed milk
  • 8 tbsp. cocoa powder (plus 2 tbsp. extra for dusting)
  • 1 tbsp. butter

 

Instructions:

  1. Prepare a 6 inch square tray by covering the bottom and sides with plastic wrap. Leave a 7 to 8 inch long overhang on one side.
  2. Add milk to a large pot. Then add the cocoa powder gradually, mixing well after every addition. Mix until smooth.
  3. Place the pot on the stove and on medium heat, cook until the mixture starts to bubble.
  4. Lower the heat and add the butter.
  5. Keep stirring continuously and cook the mixture until it thickens. Pay special attention to not let anything stick to the bottom of the pot. The mixture should be thick enough to pull away from the edges and when you run a spatula through it, it should take some time to combine again. We got to that point in around 20 minutes.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared tray and smoothen it out using a spatula. Then wrap the overhang over the mixture and flatten it out so that the entire thing is now tightly wrapped in plastic, sort of like a parcel. Keep the tray in the fridge for around 1 and half hours.
  7. Dust around 1 tbsp. of cocoa powder on to a clean surface. Then remove the mixture, which by now would have set, from the plastic wrap and place it on top of the cocoa powder.
  8. Cut squares using a sharp knife and sprinkle about 1 tbsp. cocoa powder on top. You can use your fingers to gently curve the corners of the squares or just let them be.
