If you’re craving something warm and comforting, then Ramen House is an easy pick for you.
Located in Hulhumale’, Ramen House is the first-ever restaurant in the Maldives that serves homemade ramen.
The moment you step inside, you’re met with walls covered in bright, cartoon-style illustrations with Japanese themes. It gives the place a light-hearted, almost comic-book energy that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a quirky noodle den. And before you even reach the dining area, the stairs greet you with helpful reminders of how many calories you’re burning as you climb!
Once we sat down, the service was smooth, relatively fast, and before long, we had given our order.
The menu was quite extensive; in addition to different dry and soupy ramen dishes, they also had other Japanese-style dishes like gyoza, sushi, and rice bowls. The ramen dishes were named after popular Japanese manga characters. We went with a soupy ramen – Inuyashi Beef Ramen – and Shifuudu Seafood Ramen – a stir-fried ramen. We also got a shrimp tempura dish as a snack.
We started with the beef ramen with miso broth. The broth was rich, savoury, and with that deep, slightly nutty miso flavour that coated the noodles just right. The beef was tender, adding a nice bit of heartiness to the bowl, along with the medium-boiled egg and veggies on the side.

The dry ramen with seafood had a different sort of appeal – more savoury and spicier. The noodles had a good bite, and the slightly sweet teriyaki sauce and seafood packed a certain punch of flavour.

But the dish that really caught our attention was the shrimp tempura. Huge, crispy, and golden, they arrived perfectly fried and still steaming. The sweet chilli sauce on the side added that gentle kick and sweetness which paired really well with the crunchy coating.

Overall, Ramen House offers a fun dining experience with comforting bowls, playful decor, and quick service – exactly the kind of place you keep in mind for a casual, satisfying meal. Try it out!
