Soul Food by Himoo – Chinese-Style Beef Noodles

Soul Food by Himoo has been constantly popping up on our Instagram feed recently, and it always looks delicious! The home-based business sells Chinese-style noodles, dumplings, and has recently introduced Korean rice bowls as well. We decided to go for the Chinese-style Beef Noodles.

The noodles came in a traditional Chinese takeout box, with a cute little sticker saying “Shukuran” (meaning thank you in Arabic) and a pair of chopsticks.

The first thing you notice when you open the box is the vibrant deep orange-ish colour of the noodles and the chopped green chillies. And then the spicy, savoury smell hits you!

Onto the actual taste of the dish. It was delicious! The beef pieces were plenty and were tender & flavourful. The noodles had a bite to it (we’re thinking soba noodle but can’t say for sure) and slurped in a very satisfying way. The taste was reminiscent of a mix of Chinese and Korean, with hints of soy sauce and sesame oil. The chilli paste was really good and brought an umami flavour to the dish.
