Seena’s Patisserie – Handmade Chocolates

Category: Love This Dish

If you’re a chocolate lover who’s into different flavoured fillings, then we’ve got just the thing for you to try!

Seena’s Patisserie is a small business that sells handmade chocolates, right here in the Maldives. Their chocolates are now available in Countline Maldives outlets and come in many flavours.

Their OG flavour is the pistachio kunafa milk chocolate – the flavour that has taken the culinary world by storm in the last year! Apart from this classic version, the delectable pistachio kunafa is also available in dark and milk chocolates.

Other flavours in Seena’s Patisserie’s chocolate range includes hazelnut kunafa, Biscoff with kanamadhu and salted caramel with macadamia nuts, in milk, dark and white chocolate bars.

For this review, we tried out their pistachio kunafa milk chocolate.

Opening the paper wrapper, the first thing you notice is the decadent thickness of the bar. The second thing is the glossy chocolate with a slightly unusual pattern on it.

Inside, it gets even better, with a layer of bright green pistachio kunafa filling which oozes out of the chocolate when you break it open!

Crispy and buttery, the crunchy texture of the kunafa perfectly complements the natural and sweet taste of the pistachio butter (made from raw pistachios, this doesn’t have that artificial taste some butters do). Bringing it all together is the creamy milk chocolate – smooth, velvety, and just the right amount of indulgent.

While not overpoweringly sweet or cloying, one bite goes a long way, and this is a chocolate bar that you can savour over several tastings for sure.

Seena’s Patisserie has also recently introduced a new flavour – kunafa double crunch –Oreo chunks and kunafa pieces mixed with a chocolate spread – and we had the wonderful pleasure of sampling this too.

The texture of this is quite similar to the pistachio kunafa, except for the tiny Oreo pieces in the filling. Even with the extremely chocolatey flavour, the sweetness is not overpowering – the buttery kunafa and cookies makes up for it!

If you’re looking to indulge in something truly special – and crafted in the Maldives! – the handmade chocolates by Seena’s Patisserie are sure to satisfy your sweet cravings. With interesting, rich flavours, their chocolates make for the perfect treat. Definitely worth a try!
