Desserts by Foodtrove by Anjj and Githeyomirus

If you’re into sweet treats, then it’s definitely worth checking out the ‘bake sale’ style up-for-grabs desserts by Instagram food content creators, @foodtrovebyanjj and @githeyomirus.

We recently had the pleasure of trying their chocolate chip cookies, which were available for pre-order for the weekend. They usually post the treats on their stories, so keep an eye out to make sure you don’t miss them!

The cookies arrived in a box of six, and they looked simply delicious!

First off, the texture. These chocolate chip cookies were the perfect balance of crispy and chewy. The edges were beautifully caramelised, giving it that satisfying snap when you bite in on the side. But at the same time, the centre was soft and chewy, almost melting in your mouth as you ate it.

The flavour of the cookie itself was rich and buttery without being cloying. The chocolate chips in it were a bit larger than what you’d usually find – gooey, slightly sweet and went great with the chewy texture of the cookie. The pièce de resistance was the flaky sea salt on top, which gave the cookie a new depth of flavour.

We also had the pleasure of trying out one of their cupcake boxes which had a spiced carrot cupcake and a lemon poppyseed cupcake.

The carrot cupcake came was GENEROUSLY spiced – you could taste the distinct notes of the spice mix and the carrots. The cake itself was moist and the frosting on top added just the right sweet, vanilla-y notes.

The lemon poppyseed cupcake was bright and refreshing. What we really loved was the bright, tangy lemon curd filling in the middle, which went great with the airy cake and the light, whipped frosting.

All in all, it was a delightful sweet experience. Everything was fresh, thoughtfully crafted, and balanced in flavour. Whether you prefer something rich, spiced, or citrusy, the bake sale desserts by Foodtrove by Anjj and Githeyomirus are definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
