A Cosy Time at The Little Tea Shop

If you’re into cute little spaces, tasty pastries, and even tastier desserts, then check out The Little Tea Shop!

Located in Malé, this quaint café stays true to its name. The space is cosy and thoughtfully put together, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in.

We recently dropped by to see what they had on the menu and tried a mix of both sweet and savoury options, of which there were quite a few.

Their dessert selection included butter cake topped with buttercream, classic chocolate chip cookies, and rich, fudgy brownies. There were also savoury options like leek pastry tarts, eggplant pastries, and even sourdough toast, along with a variety of hot and cold drinks.

We went for the leek pastry, chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, and a turmeric latte (you can also ask for a non-dairy milk option).

Let’s start with dessert for a change.

The chocolate cake was soft, fluffy, and intensely cocoa-y, while the cream cheese frosting added a slight sweetness and tang that paired well with the lightness of the cake.

The open-faced leek pastry was just as enjoyable. The puff pastry was soft and flaky, while the leek filling was savoury and full of umami flavour. It was also topped with a slice of smoked cheese, which added an extra layer of depth to the tart.

The turmeric latte was warm and lightly spiced. The turmeric didn’t overpower the drink; instead, it brought an earthy note that complemented the slightly indulgent food and soothed you from within.

Overall, The Little Tea Shop delivers a simple yet satisfying café experience. Whether you’re catching up with a friend or looking for a quiet break in the middle of a busy day, it offers a calm, comfortable space that we definitely recommend you check out.
