LianShuiQing Noodle is a hidden gem for those seeking authentic Chinese noodles.
Located on the ground floor of Raincrest Residence (Tower A) on Reethigas Magu, Hulhumale’, LianShuiQing Noodle is a big space. With red signage, glass doors and wooden tables and chairs, the restaurant resembles a traditional Chinese noodle shop. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, and despite the large number of diners there for dinner, the servers were quick and attentive.
The restaurant serves two main types of noodles – dry, fried noodles and soupy broth versions – with rice noodles and traditional egg noodles. They also serve dumplings and wontons, along with some selected Chinese side dishes.
We opted to go for the beef noodles with soy sauce (spicy version) along with two sets of dumplings – chicken and shrimp. The food arrived pretty fast and we just dug right in.
Now, let’s dive into the flavours!
The beef noodle with soy sauce is a soupy dish, with thin egg noodles, minced beef, and bell peppers. The soy sauce broth was spicy and umami-tasting with hints of garlic and sesame oil. The noodles are perfectly cooked, with a slightly chewy texture which went great with the rich, slurpy broth. The minced beef was tender and flavourful, and pulled the whole dish together to make a hearty, comforting meal.
The dumplings are a HUGE portion – 12 dumplings of each type with a soy-chilli dipping sauce. Each dumpling comes with a minced filling, wrapped in silky dough, and is steamed to perfection.
The chicken filling was more flavourful, while the shrimp ones were a bit more on the milder side. However, when paired with the savoury, vinegary sauce, each dumpling had a tasty, unique taste to it. Plus, the meat-to-dough ratio of each dumpling was perfect and absolutely delicious!
Overall, LianShuiQing Noodle delivers tasty, authentic flavours, making it a must-visit spot for Chinese food enthusiasts and noodle lovers alike!
