If you’re craving a snack that goes beyond the usual tea-time favourites, then check out the boava rolls (octopus rolls) at Koya’s Kitchen.
Available on both Foodies app and Avas Food, Koya’s Kitchen has a variety of snacks like boava rolls, pizza, donuts as well as dishes like fried rice, pasta, and noodles. The octopus rolls come in three flavours – spicy, tom yum and cheesy.

The doughnuts also come in interesting flavours like kanamadhu (sea almond), Thai red tea, tiramisu, pistachio and kashikeyo (screwpine).
We went for the spicy and tom yum boava rolls as well as a kanamadhu donut.
The boava rolls arrived fresh and hot. They were crispy and golden outside, giving just the right crunch when you bite into it. The filling inside was spicy, curried and had the light briny, sweet taste of octopus.

The spicy one had a gentle, even heat to it. The heat didn’t hit all at once; instead, it built gradually, allowing the savoury notes to shine through.
The tom yum-flavoured boava roll offered a different experience. They had a similar curried taste, but a slightly tangier, umami taste.
The kanamadhu doughnut was absolutely delicious! The pastry of the doughnuts was soft, fluffy, and lightly sweet. It was then topped with the famed kanamadhu cake’s syrup and ground nuts. The result is a kanamadhu-y, but not too sweet doughnut that hits all the right notes.
Whether you’re in the mood for some spicy or tangy flavours, these boava rolls by Koya’s Kitchen are definitely worth getting for an easy snack!
